More about our membership program
The Tyler Loop has been a pro bono pilot project since launching in April of 2017. You’ve told us you want much more—more fresh perspectives, more experiments like our taco tour, more data-driven storytelling—and we can’t wait to get started. We have submitted paperwork to become a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and we see our low-cost monthly membership program as the key to a sustainable future.
But our membership program is also important for another reason. By turning to our own readers for support, instead of advertisers, we can take on investigative reporting and challenging topics that our readers tell us they’d like to see more of in Tyler. For the cost of one nice lunch a month, you can keep us beholden to no one but our own readers and our own mission.
Your monthly membership also keeps our reporting free for everyone to read—no paywalls, no hidden content. Bonus: you’ll also keep our site free of annoying pop-up ads!
Your support demonstrates that you value the importance of in-depth local reporting and a free press. We report on this community because we love it, and your membership helps build a more connected, more informed Tyler for everyone who lives and works here. We believe in Tyler, and we thank you for believing in us.
Already a member? Want to go further in your support of The Loop? Thank you! Your generosity allows us to reach higher and experiment with more new ways of informing East Texas.
Please note that The Tyler Loop has not currently received federal tax-exempt status—we’re working on it, and the process can take many months—and your donation is not eligible for a charitable deduction on your tax return.
